On 11/11/25, East Troy High School hosted its annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Veteran family members and local VFW/American Legion members were invited for breakfast prepared by HOSA students. Murry Mitten, East Troy High School Class of 1982, gave a moving speech, and the ETHS Choir, including soloist Dane Borkowski, performed at the all-school ceremony. ETHS hosted a fall signing day for athletes who committed to continue their athletic careers in college. It's estimated that around 7% of high school athletes get to play at the collegiate level, with under 2% playing at a Division 1 level. This week, ETHS had two athletes, Lilly Atkinson and Brady Collins, sign their commitment letters to play Division 1 athletics collegiately. Brady Collins will wrestle at Mizzou - University of Missouri, and Lilly Atkinson will play softball at Bowling Green in Kentucky. Congratulations to these two outstanding athletes on their athletic accomplishments.
Also, we aren't done yet! There is a spring signing day where we will celebrate more athletes and their commitment to playing college athletics.
Go Trojans!

On November 4, a small group of HOSA members attending the Fall Leadership Conference for the very first time! We traveled to Marquette University where over 500 HOSA members from around southeastern Wisconsin spent the day together. Morning sessions helped students hone their leadership skills, then we had a Q&A session with current students in Marquette's robust health sciences programs, and the afternoon offered career focused breakout sessions hosted by professors, deans and directors. It was an outstanding day!

This year, ETHS launched our Academies to ensure students interested in popular career fields have assistance with course planning, a teacher advisor familiar with the career path, and field trips and speakers to expose them to their career interest.

Thank you to the 14 HS students for speaking about ETHS and our academic academies, clubs, and athletic opportunities. The students spoke about their career pathways and the courses and clubs they are involved in to support their future endeavors. Many of the students are also athletes, so they spoke about our quality athletic programs, including Brady Collins, who signed this week at Mizzou and will compete at a D1 level. We also highlighted our clubs, equestrian team, drama program, and HUNCH clubs, to name a few. It was a proud moment to watch our students talk about their successes, and a great way to start a Friday. Here's a link to the presentation that we shared.
Go Trojans!

With grant funds, our Tech Ed Department purchased a saw mill to mill our own lumber for student projects. In the pictures below, the log that is being milled is from the front of the Middle School that was removed. So far, we are over $2000 in lumber produced for the students to use. Thank you to Mr. Hoff and Mr.
Schroepfer, our Tech Ed teachers, for supporting this process.
